Singur (WB), Dec 1 (PTI) Rebel West Bengal minister Rabindranath Bhattacharya, who created a flutter by not taking charge of a new portfolio he was assigned, today left it to his party to decide on his future saying irrespective of whether it is to his liking or not, he is bound to accept its decision. "I am bound by party discipline. If I am suspended or expelled from the party on grounds of ignoring party directives and discipline, then I have to acknowledge that I have not followed the party directive," he told reporters at his residence. "Irrespective of whether it is to my liking or not, if I am suspended or expelled from the party on the ground of breach of party discipline, I am bound to accept the decision. I cannot continue to remain in the party," Bhattacharya, who played an active role in the Singur movement, said. "If I remain in the party by not following the party discipline it would be it will be treated as anti-party activity," he said. The minister evaded a question whether he was footing the ball into the party supremo's court. To another query, he ruled out joining any other party and said he would take 'political sanyas'. On his MLA post, he said, "I will tender my resignation as MLA at the right time. "Besides, there are some other issues about which I will not speak on now," he said. The minister who has refused to take charge of the low key Statistics portfolio after being divested of the Agriculture portfolio had yesterday stayed away from the chief minister's meeting stating that he did not receive a formal invitation. Denying the allegations raised by the new Minister of state for Agriculture, Becharam Manna, a peasant leader of Singur, that he and his son allegedly resorted to extortion, Bhattacharya said he was extremely hurt by the accusation. Manna, on his part, said "I do not have time to discuss such dirty issues. I am busy with preparations for the Singur Day programme tomorrow." Trinamool Congress observes December 2 when the police attacked its leaders and workers in 2007, as Singur Day. PTI COR NN PKC PC ZMN
