Mumbai, Feb 2 (PTI) Second seed Vijay Sundar Prashanth benefited from third seed Rohan Gide's misfortune to reach the final of the Rs 12-lakh prize money Omkar All India ranking men's and women's tennis championship at the Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana Club here today. Gide sustained a dislocated left shoulder at a point when he was well on course to make the final which eventually led him to retire. He had taken the first set 6-3 and was serving at 3-2 with a break in the second when he got injured. The left-hander bravely attempted to play on after receiving immediate treatment from the tournament physios but had little choice but to pull out at the conclusion of the second set which finished 6-3 in favour of Prashanth. Prashanth, winner in 2010, will tackle rising youngster Mohit Mayur for the men's crown and will now have a chance to complete a treble tomorrow, having already sealed the mixed doubles crown while also booking his place in the men's doubles final. Mayur continued his splendid run in the tournament by knocking out defending champion A S Suresh Krishna in straight sets 6-3 6-4. In the mixed doubles final, Prashanth and Sharmada Balu upset the top-seeded pairing of Vishnu Vardhan and Sonia Dayal 6-1 2-6 10-8. Other results: Men's doubles semi-finals: 3-Mohit Mayur/Ajai Selvaraj bt 2-Rohan Gajjar/Aditya Madkekar 7-6 (6) 4-6, 10-8; Women's doubles semi-finals: 1-Sharmada Balu/Sowjanya Bavisetti bt 3-Namita Bal/Tarrannum Handa 6-2 6-0 2-Natasha Palha/Treta Bhattacharyya bt 4-Nupur Kaul/Sagarika Phadke 6-0 6-2.
