Fatehgarh Sahib, Feb 9 (PTI) Jasbir Singh Ahluwalia, suspended Vice Chancellor of SGPC-run Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, today submitted his resignation to SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar, the Chancellor of the varsity. Dr Ahluwalia told reporters here that he had sent-in his resignation to Makkar. Makkar had constituted a five-member committee to take legal advice on the matter, University sources said. A final decision on Ahluwalia's resignation would be taken after receiving the committee's report which is likely to be submitted in a week, they said. The Punjab and Haryana High Court recently dismissed Ahluwalia's petition challenging his suspension. Ahluwalia was suspended on July 31 last year following allegations of irregularities against him.
